As part of the Art Sky project of the ongoing China Shanghai International Arts Festival, the fourth In•Shanghai Art Fest is open at the Inlet, a new lifestyle hub in the Hongkou district.
Nine live performances from home and abroad will take place for three consecutive weekends at the compound repurposed from historical buildings and lanes till Nov 3.
The French baroque music group Les Epopees (The Epics) held a concert on Oct 26, playing works of Bach, Vivaldi, and Haendel on instruments such as harpsichord, the Baroque flute and string instruments.
The week before, the dance theater show called “Personallery 3.0”, a project supported by the Rising Artists Works program of CSIAF, was performed at the Inlet last week.
More performances will take place till Nov 3, including a ballet show choreographed by Ao Dingwen, a drum show that combines Chinese and Japanese percussion music, and a musical gala.
According to Cui Yiyi, the PR officer for Bingang Commercial Center under the Chongbang Group Co Ltd, which is the developer of the Inlet, “After four years of in-depth collaboration with CSIAF, we have made live performance an integral part of the compound.” More artistic events are scheduled to open from December on, after the festival, she said.
