Two international marathon events were held across Guangdong province on Sunday, attracting thousands of participants running in warm spring with flowers blossoming.
In Huizhou, traditionally known for its rich Hakka culture, some 12,000 runners from 13 countries and regions ran along typical sites of the city, including the renowned West Lake and Dongpo Temple, which was built in commemoration of Su Dongpo, a Song Dynasty (960-1279) poet.
Also, over 20,000 international runners participated in a marathon event in Qingyuan, a mountainous city in northern Guangdong, on Sunday.
