Xidi village
Located in Huangshan in the eastern province of Anhui, Xidi is an ancient village dating back 970 years. It was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2000 and is famous for its historical architecture including a memorial archway and ancestral temples and its Huizhou culture.
Yucun village
Yucun sits in Anji in the eastern province of Zhejiang, which has transformed from a polluted village into a tourism destination surrounded by clear water and green mountains thanks to the local authorities and residents’ great efforts.
Huangling village
Located in Wuyuan, Jiangxi province, Huangling is an ancient village built on a hillside at an altitude of about 1,260 meters. The village has a history dating back 600 years and is known for the tradition of air-drying agricultural products with bamboo-woven trays.
Zhagana village
Zhagana, meaning “stone box” in the Tibetan language, sits at an altitude of 3,500 meters in the Gannan Tibetan autonomous prefecture of Gansu province. With steep mountains, forests, lakes and grasslands, there are also stone walls that shape the village into a “stone palace”.
Zhujiawan village
Situated in Zhashui county, Shaanxi province, the village boasts rich animal and plant resources and cultural assets. It has 25 intangible cultural treasures and 17 tangible cultural assets like the ancient Qinling Mountain homes.
Xiajiang village
This village lies in a mountainous area in Chun’an county, Zhejiang province, with a history dating back about 800 years.
Jingzhu village
Located in Chongqing, Jingzhu is rich in natural resources including forests, grasslands and valleys. The strong cultural vibes and folk activities, such as shadow puppets, wax printing and bamboo weaving, make the village a popular tourist destination.
