Lucy Mwende, a teacher at Ndalani secondary school in Kenya’s Machakos County, has been bringing her students to the capital city Nairobi annually for the Nairobi International Trade Fair and this year was no different. According to her, the trade fair has become a hallmark of learning and discovery for students and it is a tradition the school eagerly anticipates every year.

Mwende said that in addition to the material students learn through the official curriculum, they need to get a glimpse into the real world of innovation, culture and knowledge and keep abreast with the latest trends in the market and that is why the fair is important to them.

“This year for instance, our students had the opportunity to explore a wide range of exhibitions, interact with experts, and witness cutting-edge technologies in action. From science to agriculture, commerce to arts, the fair showcased the very best of Kenya’s ingenuity and talent,” Mwende said.
