The country’s first inter-provincial adjustable resource sharing and transaction project with a capacity of about 30,000 kilowatts of electricity was officially launched between business entities in Shanghai and Anhui province on Monday, according to official sources.
The transaction, fully supported technologically and under real-time monitoring of the virtual power plant in Shanghai, marks the official operation of cross-provincial adjustable resources based on supply.
The project is part of State Grid Shanghai’s efforts in strengthening electric power interconnection and sharing across the Yangtze River Delta region.
Connected to 24 virtual power plant operators and 1,678 users, the Shanghai virtual power plant will further expand its scale and response capability, as well as constantly improve its functions as an operation and management platform to realize the safe, stable and reliable operation of Shanghai’s urban power network, said the State Grid Shanghai.
